How I Spent the Holidays

Recently came home for our annual Christmas trip to Tagaytay. The weather was really cold, a jacket was simply a must! This trip was by far the best as compared to previous years. The hotel was super cozy. When i lay in my bed i fell asleep almost instantly and getting up is a hard thing to do. The shower and the bathroom was big, i could spend hours in there!

more or less, here is what our room looked like

The food was the best. Our pre-Christmas lunch at Tootsie’s was unforgettable. The food was just so delicious, me and my brother couldn’t get over it till dinner.

first four photos and the photo above grabbed from google. I’m really not a “picture-takey” person so forgive me haha

Tootsie’s had a very comfy and homey ambiance. When dining there, it feels like you have been invited by your tita/tito at their home for lunch.

Best Kare-Kare we’ve tasted so far! I dunno if we were just hungry at that time or what.

Their Crispy Pata costs about 510php but it was definitely worth it. The meat was tender, the balat (pig’s skin) was indeed crispy and the serving was really big. We forced ourselves to finish it.

What did i do after i gobbled up food till my tummy hurt? I slept. I tend to be a pig most of the time haha! I dunno, it’s just the weather was so cold i get sleepy quite often. After my brother went out for a swim, (which i dunno why he still can because the water was icy cold, probably like the same temperature as those they swim into at polar bear plunges) we attended an anticipated mass hosted in our hotel. We then headed out for dinner. Initially we planned to visit Sonya’s Garden but it was quite far and it was already dark. Antonio’s was unfortunately closed and Buon Giorno was full so we ended up having dinner at Carlo’s Pizza.

So yeah, i slept again after eating haha! The one thing that i’m really excited about when we check in at hotels is not the amenities we get to enjoy but the complimentary breakfast buffets they serve during the morning. I usually skip breakfast during mornings because i tend prioritize sleeping in more but this is an exception. I’m such a happy plump kid! :) Our trip wouldn’t be complete without bringing home these goodies from Rowena’s.

photos below taken using my phone

L-R: Strawberry Cheese Tarts, Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Buko Tarts. My favorites are the Buko Tarts, Brownies, Blueberry Cheese Tarts and the Lemon Squares. Too bad the latter two were unavailable.

The weather, the food, the place itself was really Christmas-y and for the first time this year, i was able to really enjoy my short vacation without worries and all. This time i can honestly say, I was living and enjoying the moment. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas as much as i did! :)
